Silver Arrows – Mercedes & Auto Union
Power and domination erupted from Germany’s Mercedes and Auto Union as they set new standards for racing technology and organization in the 1930s. Backed by political power the Silver Arrows took racing to a new level of professionalism and nationalism.


At the lower end of the industrial scale, Cooper emerged from humble beginnings with the first of it kind being built in a London garage. Before long they led the way in GP racing and would win world titles in 1959 and 1960. John Cooper and Jack Brabham recall their memories and experience with the legendary Cooper.

Legendary motor-sporting icon Colin Chapman helped establish the British racing industry with his shoestring operation. His innovations in car manufacturing and design led to a new approach racing which would also cross over into production of road cars, notably the Elan and the Elite.

But the most successful part of the Lotus story lies within the grand prix racing circuit of the 1960s. Innovations and world championships continued to define the Lotus name up until the 1970s.

Sports Cars 1970s
As manufacturing and production costs became more assessable, newer models and innovations began to filter into the sports car scene. With rare and exhilarating footage, we look at some classic action from sports car racing around the world during the 1970s. Porsche produced sports cars that were faster than F1 cars and produced spectacular racing.

C Type Jaguar & D Type Jaguar
Linked forever to the Le Mans 24 hours Jaguar began their succuss with the C Type in 1955. We speak to the drivers and managers who reminisce about the early days of this famous car. A further development was the D Type which continued Jaguar’s winning streak run a Le Mans in the mid 50s and established the company worldwide.
