Andreas Scholl is perhaps the world’s best known and most admired counter tenor, and has never limited himself in terms of style. He has extended his superb vocal talent to arias by Handel and Mozart, Vivaldi Motets and even a selection of specially arranged English and American folksongs with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. Scholl’s diverse approach and talent has earned him the prestigious classical Brit Singer of the Year Award in for 2006. Scholl’s relationship with Leo Schofield and Australian audiences began in 1998 when he was invited to sing with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra in the Sydney Festival. From this collaboration an exciting and fruitful musical union was made.
