An Evening With Bernadette Peters (DVD)

More Views

Broadway star Bernadette Peters headlined the 2009 Adelaide Caberet Festival and brought the crowd to their feet for three consecutive standing ovations.

From her opening number, Let Me Entertain You, Peters brought wit, emotion and her inimitable style to a range of musical numbers and pop classics. Highlights included a playfully sexy rendition of Fever from atop a grand piano, a heart-rending ‘Rose’s Turn’ (from Gypsy) and a performance of her self-penned charity single Kramer’s Song.

Featuring classics from Rodgers and Hammerstein, as well as several Stephen Sondheim numbers, both old and new, Bernadette Peters charmed her audience with her bubbly personality and hilarious banter which were overshadowed only by the rich textures of her magnificent voice.

Bernadette Peters came to Adelaide and shone brilliantly, backed superbly by the 28-piece Adelaide Art Orchestra. Not only did she look sensational and ageless, her voice was in top form and gave those who came to see her an evening to remember.
